Happy 80th Birthday Card...

It was Steve's Mum's 80th Birthday last Tuesday and I made her this card as she has found memories of family holidays in Cornwall.

Steve fell in love with this image when I showed it to him as he said that he can remember his Mum and Dad sitting on the beach just like this in the 1970's.

This image is from a Joanna Sheen CD called Nostalgia Collection I had the paper and the overlays from my scrapbooking digital kits.

CopyRight Logo Stamp...

Having read how important it is to copyright your own work I decided I better have ago at designing some for my work.  I already have a number of royalty free image CD's and fonts so I came up with the below designs.

Get your own name, blog and email/mobile address, for just £2.50 or $4 (via PayPal)
They come in both black & white versions and will come as 6 separate files at 300dpi, in png format
They will be emailed to you within 24hrs

To use you just place the chosen file over your photo and group together and re-save the photo with your copyrighted stamp in place.  You have both black & white so you can chose the best one for your photo, you could also recolour them to any colour you'd like.  Please note these stamps are not editable.

I just Love, Love, Love these pencils...

Just had my first play with the Spectrum Noir Colouring Pencils and I love them they really do give a richer look to your colouring. I would just say the the solvent does smell so I am going to try an old trick of using lavender essential oil instead, see if that will work as I know this is what oil pastel users sometime use.

I'm really pleased with the skirt now works much better.

I am still not that happy with the dress but I know I have to leave it or I risk messing it up.

My first time colouring in over 2 years...

Well this weekend I finally got around to having ago at colouring again, they aren't brilliant but for a first go I am pleased with them both.  I do also have the Spectrum Noir Colouring Pencils which I haven't used before I might have ago using them over these two and see if they improve them...

This was my first go not happy with the dress but I do like how the skin and hair come out

My second go I'm a lot happier with this one could have just done with another yellow/orange on the dress

Ooh Shiny - One thing...

I've had great fun this weekend creating layouts using the new kits from Netta.  There will be another new kit released on Thursday so watch this space...

I don't have that many photo's of my Dad as he past away when I was 6. I love this photo, Mum and Dad had Whisky for 8 yrs and Mum is always telling me how I learnt to walk by holding onto Whisky. I wanted to highlight the golden colours in whisky's coat and I think the sunflower has done just that.

Made using the new kit from Creative Victorian Ooh Shiny, this is on offer for a few days too save 61% on the complete collection.  http://scrapbookbytes.com/store/digital-scrapbooking-supplies/cvd-oohshiny-collection.html

What Happened to August?

Well its September and already there is a bit of a chill in the air here in the UK.  I've had a busy August as my Mum ended up having two cataract operations on the same eye at two different hospitals last week and Steve has been ill these last few days with a very nasty stomach bug he's signed off work until Tuesday.

So I've had the two off them to look after, I have also just changed my car something I haven't done for over 9 years.  Gone from having a Corsa to a Nissan Note and I love it I have been going to Tesco's to get whatever food Mum or Steve fancy every day.

I have also got around to sorting out my alcohol markers and I am going to get back into colouring again.  I just need to get myself sorted out and just have ago again, it's been way too long since I've done any colouring.  I will post my attempt so you can see how rusty I am lol...

I have also treated myself to a Brother Scan N Cut machine I've not had chance yet to play with it but I am so looking forward to getting it out and see what I can make with it...
