Well it's been a long time since I posted on here.  Due to commitments and then Covid I just haven't been upto keeping this blog going.  Then when I did feel like starting up again I realised Google had deleted the gallery I had over 4 years of layouts and cards and there is no way to get them back.

So its now 2022 it's a new year and a new start.  I have decided to start a new Blog too this one will still be here as I've still go loads of old posts and photo's here.  But I want to start of fresh new name SJC Designs and new content too.  I have been asked to join the DT for Sweet Sentiments as they wanted someone to come along who'd have ago at more than just cards and also I love working with digital stamps too. So come and join me in my new Blog, its going to be fun I hope.

I won a colouring competition!

I won a colouring competition over on Swedish House Crafts Two weeks ago.  With my bookmark!

My prize was to colour the new digital stamp covers to be released on 16th October, which is such an honor.  I have also been asked to make an item for the blog for the release. 

So as the stamps are about books, I came up with the ideal of making a sign, as I wanted to make something that embraces the love we have for books, the love we all have for reading and for a Library. 

I used Copic's with some pencils (polly's) added to give some extra depth.  I made the sign by first making sure the stamps were the correct size for the sign I already had and as I have a die that I wanted to use for the window (I used some lightweight vellum to give the look of looking through glass).  I had to colour the library first then reduce it on my laptop to be able to get the perspective right behind the window. I cut out the girl using my Scan'N'Cut to give a boarder, and to also give me the matt's and layers.  The flower was some flower and leaf dies I've had for years. The words and alphabets are some stickers I had left over from scrapbooking.  This sign is 8 x 8 inches in size.

Large Butterfly

It's that time again when I get ready to teach a class at a local craft shop. The September class (14th at 2pm), is colouring in this lovely Crafters Companion stamp from the Flutterby Collection (including the sentiment).

In this class we will be learning colour blending and how to do the ombre look. Please don't look at this and think it's to hard to do my skills aren't good enough as I will show you how we break this down into easy steps.

I have the copic colours as that's what I coloured this with but for the class I will have a ProMarkers version and the SN pen version, including the new Tri-Blend pens version. If you are local and would like to have ago at this class, then just let me or Tracey at Kraft Crazy in Amesbury know asap.

Class day Girl

Just got back from teaching the swatches colouring class. The girls all enjoyed themselves and were happy with their end result. Looking forward to seeing them at the next class.

Girl Colouring Class

Look what I coloured up today for the next colouring class on the 1st June! This little lady can be used for a host of occasions. 

So if you are free on the 1st why not come and join me. We are going to practice hair, skin and how to get that blended look. But be quick there are only 8 places and these can get snapped up quickly (contact Tracey at Kraft Crazy for availability).

Swatches Class Day

Just got back from teaching the swatches colouring class. The girls all enjoyed themselves and were happy with their end result. Looking forward to seeing them at the next class.

Colours for the class 23rd March

The Idea behind these swatches is to colour these templates up and make up your own swatches books. Now you can have your own swatch books that relate to your pen collections and brands. Pens used here are Tri-Blend's, Copic's, ProMarkers and SN Markers.

Tri-Blend - Flower Swatches

I have to say I am really liking these new Tri-blend Pens! They are really nice and easy to lay the ink down and blend and you get a nice definition from the 3 colours. Each version coloured here is only from the one pen. The only extra colour used is the brown Tri-blend Pen used for the centre's and to add shading to the flowers. These are a great buy for anyone who loves to colour and doesn't have the time to sort out the right blends to use. These are the same choice of colours as I have already done for the class on the 23rd, using Copic's, SN Pens and ProMarkers.

If you'd like to see these pages before the class on the 23rd March then pop into Kraft Crazy later this week as I will be sending the pages to Tracey to display in the shop. I will have these pens with me on class day and Tracey will also have the pens for sale in her shop soon as well. If you've just got these pens and would like to join us on the 23rd I'd be happy to do the class on the Tri-blend pen's as well just let Tracey know when you book your place x

I coloured this in last week as part of this marathon. I am pleased with how it turned out although I had to stop as the sand started to go wrong x
